WORLD WAR Z CROSS PLATFORM INVITES ON THE WAY
The party is alive.

World War Z will be getting cross platform invitations, including PS4, in a future update.

Following on from the launch of today’s update featuring PC - Xbox matchmaking cross play, which currently lacks support for any cross platform party invite system, or PS4, we reached out to the Saber Interactive team on Twitter to get the scoop on their future plans.

We sent them the following: “So cross play only works by randomly entering a shared Xbox / PC matchmaking pool. No party system or invites? Will this be added later, along with PS4?”

In their reply, they state: “For now, that's right. We are also working on crossplatform invite functionality, which will arrive in a future update (and PS4 too).”

Games like Modern Warfare, Dauntless, Rocket League, and Fortnite have set an extremely high bar in terms of cross play functionality. Being able to invite your friends, regardless of their chosen device, is a massively appreciated feature, and we can’t wait to see what Saber Interactive have in store. They should also be commended for their open, honest approach to addressing fan and press queries alike.

World War Z is available now, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game is also available via Xbox Game Pass.

When cross platform invitations later become a thing, this will be the WWZ community reaction. FACT.

These are the TARP badges, which represent our ‘Totally Accurate Rating Platform’. They allow us to identify specific things, recognise positive or negative aspects of a games design, and generally indulge our consistent silliness with some visual tomfoolery.

The MAYORAL ELECTION badge is for a game filled with high pressure moments that put your skills to the test.

The BOND THEME badge is for a game that makes you feel like a badass.

The HAVOK PHYSICS badge is for a game where enemies visibly react to weapon hits.

The MARSHALL LAW badge is for a game that lets you fight back against an overwhelming force.

The SEA OF THIEVES badge is for a co-op game that is truly memorable.
