REACTION - We Still Don’t Know What Stray Is, But We’re Here For It

Se phasers to purr.

When a game manages to confound and surprise all at once, that’s a big ol’ tick in the win column. Stray is a third person cat adventure, with robots and parkour and a friendly robot friend. That much we know. Anything beyond that is mere speculation at this point, but with confirmation of a July 19th release from PlayStation’s recent State of Play, the veil will soon lift.

As an avid fan of ginger tabby’s, I can’t help but be excited. Gameplay looks appropriately bonkers, with androids wandering the back alleys and enemy drones hunting you down. But it’s also exactly the kind of slightly left field indie experiment that Annapurna Interactive tend to gravitate towards.

With a well established publisher at the helm, and the development team at BlueTwelve comprised of former Ubisoft talent, there’s plenty of reasons to get on board. Watch out for cat nip.
